Please make this a priority, communication between photographer and editor is critical to success and this is clearly a feature many people have been craving for a long time. Not being able to message an editor until you've already placed an order has been an annoyance for me several times, e.g. asking whether an editor will be able to complete the order within 24 hours, asking whether something is within their skillset, asking them about file formats, etc.

I'd understand if there was a concern of taking the editors away from the platform and working directly, but once the order's made the communication is possible anyway. It's wild to think you're not prioritizing this. It's the most important element beyond the actual editing. There have also been instances where the notes and references i've sent didn't make it to the photographer so I've had to go rounds of back and forth trying to match a style. Easily avoidable if you'd put this in place.
